PSYCHEDELIC FIRST AID & CPR
Created in 2019, the standalone Psychedelic First Aid & CPR four day program is the first of its kind. It is designed to cover all of the mental health crises, medical emergencies, worst case scenarios, and physical safety requirements all psychedelic practitioners need to know how to handle. The program is a combination of mental health crisis intervention and wilderness first aid training, specifically focusing on crises sometimes caused by psychedelics and other drugs, including overdoses. The training will include a Conscious Cannabis Circle for trainees and a three year CPR certification.

Course Content
Topics include panic, vomit, paranoia, psychosis, suicidality, mania, and other severe mental health episodes, situations that don’t happen that often but do happen often enough to be a serious problem. On the first aid side, the class would specifically address overdoses, falling, injuries, passing out, hypertension, heart problems, heart attacks, strokes, allergic reactions, seizures, and harm prevention strategies (weighing medicines, avoiding dehydration etc). Participants will learn what tools they need in the toolkits, including psychedelic antidotes, and how to discern physical and mental health emergencies from the typically weird but normal psychedelic experience.
Certification
At the completion of this course, participants will receive a 3 year Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification, issued by our Wilderness Medical Associates partner, and a Medicinal Mindfulness Psychedelic First Aid certificate.
