Gavin Dawson is a board certified Physician Assistant, founder of the medical education company Global Emergency Medics, a Lead Instructor of wilderness medicine courses, and a dedicated researcher to the ever expanding world of psychedelic medicine. After double majoring with honors at the University of Colorado in Neuroscience and Integrative Physiology plus a minor in Philosophy, he went on to complete his graduate studies at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Gavin wrote his Capstone Thesis on Ketamine and its Emerging Role in the Treatment of Mental Health Disorders and now serves as a ketamine researcher with TMS Brain and Health. He is also training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy with the Polaris Institute in early 2021.
Gavin brings a varied background in emergency medicine, wilderness medicine, hospital medicine, integrative medicine, and psychedelic medicine to each patient he works with. With a decade of teaching medical courses in 15+ countries and 5 continents, Gavin formed a unique ability to connect with individuals of all walks of life. He honed in the skill of formulating care plans to be both understandable and achievable for any patient he encountered.
Gavin’s ability to create an environment of trust and support in a medical setting, anywhere in the world, truly sets him apart in the world of medicine. He brings a strong and steady foundation to any situation which allows him to explore, remain inquisitive, and unlock the tools necessary to truly heal. Gavin is a true team player who thrives working in collaboration with his patients, always remaining focused on empowering his patients to take charge of their own health and to find vitality.
When Gavin is not assisting patients, you can find him anywhere outdoors, skiing in the Rocky Mountains, surfing the coast of California, climbing, meditating, practicing yoga, and quenching his endless thirst for traveling the world.
