PSS1 is the most important class in our program. This lecture series is open to the public and is required for those attending our intensive training retreats. If purchased separately, the cost is deducted from your training tuition. It provides foundational skillsets central to our program, supervised facilitation experiences, and a significant amount of psychedelic therapy logistics. Psychedelic therapy is not the same as psychotherapy. Although being a psychotherapist is a great foundational skillset for this work, it doesn’t prepare students to become psychedelic therapists any more than other mindfulness or spiritual practices do, and in some cases it can even get in the way of deeper experiences that are outside the realm of psychotherapy.
Daniel McQueen, MA, is the Executive Director of The Center for Medicinal Mindfulness and is a professional psychedelic specialist and guide. He has a Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and over twenty years experience exploring psychedelic medicines, including ten years working as a professional practitioner. In 2012, he co-founded Medicinal Mindfulness with his wife, Alison McQueen, MA, LPC, ATR, as a psychedelic harm-reduction program in Boulder, Colorado, and the program has since evolved into a psychedelic therapy center and international psychedelic therapy training program focusing on Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy, Cannabis-Assisted Psychotherapy and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Daniel lives with his family in Boulder, Colorado, and is a proud father, a writer, and a psychedelic community organizer. Visit The Center for Medicinal Mindfulness for more information.
